Commonly refered to by some enthusiasts as a “Hennessy with all the faults fixed” it’s substantially more expensive but has some nice design features such as a shelf for kit storage.  I don’t own one as the costs of shipping, customs etc seem a little prohibitive.

I own a Hennessy having bought it at a knock down prices from Blacks in the UK.  Blacks stopped stocking them a number of years ago but I was lucky to find it buried in one of their warehouse stores and was about half the current retail price.  It has a bottom entry system which is secured with velcro.

DD have always been good to us – I’ve ordered around 20 hammocks (mixture of their scout/camping hammocks) for general scouting use – all have been excellent quality.  These aren’t asymetrical hammocks but gathered end hammocks which some people dislike due to their banana like qualities.  Personally I find them comfortable but a little restrictive.  The more expensive models have no-seeum netting and zip entry.

Mat runs this home grown business and seems to always be worked off his feet which is testimount to the quality reviews he has posted in enthusiasts forums.  I’ve ordered a custom hammock from him which is similar to the Warbonnet Black Bird design but modified to a set of custom parameters to accommodate my 6ft 5ins frame.  He also took into account how I camped, threw in a few extras such as storage solutions etc.  Looking forward to getting a full length underblanket from him ready for our next winter expedition.
